The PON optical transceiver integrates the optical transmitter and receiver into a compact module, providing the optical interface required by PON network equipment.
For GPON applications, the optical interface follows the physical-layer requirements defined by ITU-T G.984.2, which covers GPON optical transmission parameters, including optical wavelengths, transmitter characteristics, receiver sensitivity, and optical budgets.
